Participate in the SCORE PhotoBooth Coastal Initiative
Building on the success of the smart pebbles initiative, we are excited to announce the installation of the first set of citizen science stations as part of the SCORE project!
The SCORE PhotoBooth Coastal initiative empowers local communities to actively participate in coastal monitoring while making valuable contributions to scientific research. The stations will allow citizens and environmental enthusiasts to capture images of the beach from the same viewpoints over time. Each station is equipped with a fixed frame ensuring consistency in perspective.
You can easily upload your photos to this online geosurvey and answer a few key questions to provide valuable context about the conditions at the time of capture. All collected data will be stored on the SCORE platform, contributing to long-term analysis and research.
Through this collaborative effort, scientists will be able to identify patterns of shoreline evolution. The project seeks to better understand how natural processes, such as waves, tides, storms, and climate change eventually, are shaping the coastline of our beaches over extended periods.
This project not only promotes scientific engagement but also highlights the importance of preserving and understanding our natural landscapes. We encourage everyone, local resident or visitor, to take part in this unique opportunity to become citizen scientists and help monitor the changes in our coastal areas.
